Music in Times of Isolation
Everybody in the world, must stay at home and work from home. But what a blessing it is for me to have more time to play the violin. I have more time to practise the violin the way I wanted but also how I think the piece should be played. It is really nice to do that again.
This time of isolation, we have to make the best of it. In this time of isolation, music brings the best out of me. It makes me happy, even in bad situations, or in a sad situation, and even when I’m sad. But that is fine. It is fine to feel not fine. And music makes me fine when I’m not fine.
I play the violin much more at the moment, and I love it much more. I also practise differently then I used to do since the children were born. I started practising the way I used to do when I was a teenager, and I have learned. I realise more how I hold my hands, how I use my bow, how I use my left hand and my right hand. And not to forget how I should play music.
I am also learning new pieces: Beethoven and Franck sonatas.
