Mr. PoPo, Times Up
A Poem of Leadership Gone Wrong
where there is smoke
their lies a simmering fire
no effort to put it out
as your staff do much wrong
to the innocents who are often framed
to justify much injustice and racism
choosing to look the other way
you did, each and every day
your staff beat, shot and maimed
you and your staff earned a bad name
destroying communities of color
your claim to fame, you got bad game
countless people killed on your watch
that has ticked the wrong way
far too long, many dare say
while you permit injustice
left and right, many beaten
as you sport your badge
acting surprised by the outcry
to resign, much you try to deny
evil you did, evil you now get
karma is real, you know the deal
do all a favor, step away
ridding much racism from LA
in your heart, you know wrong from right
your choices now haunt you every night
you chose wrong over doing right
thought your bad deeds would stay out of sight
but the hammer, now hits at your head
such a bad reputation is your stead
never treated all with equality
it never ticked on your clock
as they say when you do the crime
even at the helm, you got to do the time
flee the helm of the sheriff department
resignation your new title, many chant and lament
you permit and allowed
turning you head, every time
communities destroyed on your dime
not doing your job instead
do all a favor resign today
this is not working your way
loudly, many dare say.
