MOUSE TRAP: An Intruder is Discovered in the Garage!
Sometimes even innocent bystanders get thrust into action when they least expect it.

Warning: This is a true story that took place recently in a small town in Utah in the United States. Some events may be unsuitable for younger audiences.
Time: 11:15 a.m.
Case Number: 235
Location: Personal garage
Report Details:
I answered the call. It didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary. The woman on the other line was clearly in distress.
“Help me! It…it’s in the garage…it’s still breathing!”
I did my best to calm the lady’s nerves. I assured her that if she followed my every word with exactness, I could help her get through the situation.
“All right ma'am, listen up, and listen carefully,” I said with conviction. “You must do exactly as I say, or this situation could get out of hand faster than water freezes in Greenland on a cold December night.”
It was evident by her gasp that I had her attention.
“As quietly as you can, find a bucket. Not just any bucket. You need to find a sturdy, tall bucket,” I advised. “Do it quick! You don’t want to give these types of intruders any extra chances.”
The woman followed my directives, and within seconds she sent me the following photograph, along with a cryptic message which confirmed her actions:
Mission accomplished

It was clear to me that she did not have formal education in dealing with suspects in the way that I did, because in this case, the mission was clearly not accomplished.
True, she had followed my directions up to that point. However, the actions taken by the civilian caused me to conclude that she must have seen shows on television that led her to believe that the suspect could have incredible strength. She had gone beyond the scope of the mission and added a heavy boot typically used for snow sports as a lockdown device.
Once I had the woman back on the phone, she was still in shock from the circumstances that had taken place to this point.
“I hate to be the one to have to tell you this, but there is still more to be done,” I said carefully.
Another gasp.
I continued the conversation.
“You will now need to dispose of the intruder.”
Click.
While not uncommon, it was concerning to have the lady in peril hang up on me at such a crucial moment of our investigation.
My concerns were confirmed when I received the following message only seconds later:
You have a furry friend waiting for you when you get home.
