LET’S GET REAL
Mother
The embodiment of love

I search among sweet memories through tender moments reels rolling in my mind In these stories, I cannot find a single occasion to convey the essence of her soul
My mother needed a lifetime to slowly, gently stream her river of compassion to a world so full of need to pour out her gracious heart filled with gratitude toward God
Her life the embodiment of thankfulness the epitome of kindness a burning candle extinguished too soon
Her death will not always sting My Bible tells me one day she will rise in the light of eternal love in a brightness that engulfs the burn of the flaming sun
Spring arises in May’s embrace * her love transcends * the grief and pain of loss Flowers rise from the dirt growing reminders that life will again rise from the earth

One of my mother’s favorite quotes by Winston Churchill — “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
