Morning Nature Walks

This morning, the first thing I did after waking up and drinking some water was get ready and go out for a nature walk. It was raining. I love rainy forest walks.
I’m living in an Ontario big city right now (The story of how I went from west to east will follow shortly!) and there are quite a few nature nooks and crannies here.
This trail was less than half an hour from my home, so it was a relaxing commute. I grabbed a coffee on the way to make the trip even more self-care-ish.
I went to an area that boasts a creek, marshes, and several forested paths. It felt good to inhale the misty air and drink in the beauty of early spring. I even stumbled on a waterfall!
After spending much time online, which includes writing on Medium, it was wonderful to take a walk outside, be offline, and take in the scenery around me. The fact that I hadn’t been there before added to the adventure.
I realize writers often squeeze in time to write before work as they sip from their hot beverage. There’s peace in that, too. However, on our days off it’s a nice change to wake up and go outside before doing anything else.
It’s great for our minds to recharge from all the noise online and just experience some nature. Whether it’s hot, cold, warm, rainy, cloudy, or sunny, there’s beauty in every day.
Being out in nature can recharge us and allow us to focus on the present. I’ve honestly solved some major life choices while walking in a forest. Nothing clears the mind like being among trees and fresh air.

Starting your day off with a nice nature walk boosts your mood and energizes you for the day. I got some writing done after, so it was a solid morning.
Time spent walking outside and enjoying nature is never wasted.
