Morning Magic Hour
How to find magic in a small amount of time

“The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep.” — Rumi
Have you ever experienced a time where your dreams collided into a flurry of activity? That was my day yesterday. It felt like I was dancing with destiny, and my feet were gliding across the floor.
I woke up at 4:45 am with a spring in my step.
I started a new content writing contract, it was the first day of NaNoWriMo, and I also wanted to fit in my gym class and household chores.
It could have felt overwhelming, but the joy of my magic hour put me at ease.
Here are some ways you can gracefully move through busy times.
Decide To Find Joy
The beautiful thing about my plan is that I decided to create an hour doing what I love most; writing and reading on Medium.
That is the foundation of my day, where I connect with others and encourage them with my heart. It set me up for a day of learning and exploring.
When you decide on joy from the beginning, you cannot go wrong.
I encourage you to find a way to spend time doing what you love, even if it is for a short time each day. It will renew your spirit and give you courage.
How can you incorporate time for something you love?
Smile Through Your Routine
I looked at the clock, and all of a sudden, it was almost time for lunch. Where did the time go?
I faced a big learning curve yesterday, navigating the rules of writing content for my contract. I chose an article that required a lot of research, but I am proud of myself for putting a lot of effort into it.
I smiled as I tied my shoelaces, ready for the gym.
The exercise gives me the strength to continue, grow, and learn more. It is a workshop for the body and the spirit, taking care of any nervous feelings I may have had.
How can you smile through your routine today?
Give Yourself Grace
It took me several hours to get that first article done and sent to the editor. However, I give myself grace for following through and giving it my all.
When we allow ourselves to be imperfect, we can let go. Life is a beautiful dance of back and forth, to and fro.
Before I knew it, it was time to make dinner. Right before that, I set a timer for 15 minutes. I promised myself to work on my book, even just for a little bit.
Luckily, I had worked on my book for a while now, so I was not starting from scratch. Yet, putting in the work to write a few more words made me feel accomplished.
How can you give yourself grace if things take longer than expected?
