There must be more

Consistency is proven to be exceptionally important in success at MEDIUM. A good producer will produce. Makes sense.

Even a creative producer. They will produce regularly. Sometimes they need to produce on-demand. And that is consistent.

But, as I bean-counted my graphs, I saw that there must be more.

I had published 128 stories in the four months since I joined MEDIUM. So, doing the math, I saw that to be a shade over a story a day.

As I have said previously, some days I do more, and some less, so that consistency could be smoothed out better.

But, I think the reason I have not received my due accolades was that I had tagged myself in WRITING and HUMOR, tags for which there is a huge competition and for which the quality of my work falls so short of those tags as to actually be considered by some to be a lie.

After taking a closer look at the quality of my stories, a possible tweaking point for my tags, I looked at other possible tags. There ARE tags for “TRASH” and “CRAP” and “CLAPTRAP” for which the bar is set much lower, but are not yet curated or even available for a TOP WRITER category.

So therein lies the rub. Not only is consistency very important, but CONSISTENCY WITH HONOR is the secret.

As they told me in my high school journalism class, “Learn to write good!”

Thanks for your time,

P.S. You could read my profile, but even better, you could bust on over HERE and I’d be happy to send you a note whenever I publish one of these “stories.” Don’t miss out!
