More Than 5,000 Cases of Capri Sun Recalled After Cleaning Solution Contamination

Consumer complaints prompted the recall

Company Recall press release

On Monday, The Kraft Heinz Company announced a recall of a particular batch of Capri Sun juice pouch products. Over 5,700 cases of the brand’s “Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink Blend” product became contaminated with a cleaning solution that is used on the company’s food processing equipment.

Kraft Heinz announced the recall after it received several taste complaints from consumers, the statement said. The affected products are individual foil juices pouches that are sold in paperboard cartons.

Kraft Heinz stressed that only the Wild Cherry flavor has been affected by the contamination.

The affected products feature a “best when used by” date of June 25, 2023, a universal product code of 087684001004 on the cartons and 876840040900 on the cases.

Kraft Heinz says it is actively working with retail partners and distributors to remove potentially impacted product from circulation, and that consumers who purchased the product should not drink it, but rather return it to the store from which it was purchased.
