Monday Vibes

Paddling in the canal and relaxing by the lake

My favorite day of the week is Monday. While others had to go back to work after a relaxing weekend, I just got to sleep in and recover from a 6-day working week. Yes, Mondays are my off days. And I love it.

No crowds by the lake. Nobody in the shops. Empty roads and always great weather. They say it’s karma but Mondays we always have sunshine and blue skies.

So here we go. After sleeping in I made a delicious breakfast with eggs and our favorite Romanian sausage. I did some editing and writing work while the laundry was hanging outside to dry.

Later in the afternoon, it was time for some me-time. And my favorite place to be at the moment is out on the water on my paddleboard. I love exploring nature around those countless canals in northern Germany.

I was on the board for almost 2 hours paddling non-stop. Exhausted but happy I returned to the car, set up my hammock, and jumped in the lake for a refreshing swim.

Just two or three other people were out here. As I said, it’s Monday. People work.

The birds are singing in the treetops above my head and a light breeze is picking up. It was another hot day in Germany and the wind was very welcoming.

I didn’t even take out any of my cameras today. I really wanted to shut down. Not thinking about capturing this or taking a photograph of that. I only took my tablet with me to be able to read and write while swinging lightly in the wind in my favorite hammock.
