It’s another Monday and now it’s time for a Mash-Up. If you’ve missed any of the previous Mash-Ups you can find them in a list here. You all have been writing wonderfully creative stories and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Perhaps it would be worth your time to see what everyone has been up to?

R.L. Stine says that he tries to end as many chapters as possible with a cliffhanger. Write a scene that starts with a meal and ends with two non-human creatures (elves, dwarves, hobbits, ect) literally hanging off a cliff.

Just another day in the life - Your parents are a goblin and an elf. Your adopted sister is an ogre. It’s breakfast time.
In addition to the main writing prompt, I encourage you to include as many constraints as possible. Each one is worth an additional point!
How many points can you make your story worth?
Constraints: (Worth 1 point each)
- Food that doesn’t need to be cooked is burnt.
- A food fight happens and someone is physically harmed from it.
- Someone is a picky eater.
- Introduce a “new” flavor of something. (Peanut butter flavored chips, pie flavored pie, macaroni & cheese flavored ice cream, etc)
Hardcore Constraint: (Worth 2 points)
- Include step-by-step instructions to make a sandwich.
Rules:
- Write a story based on one of the main prompts.
- Include as many of the constraints in your story as possible.
- Keep your story between 100–1000 words.
- Use the tag “Mashups” if you like.
- Tag me so that I can read it and credit you for points in the next Mash-Up, please!
- Challenge your fellow writers.
- Publish where ever you want but consider The Kraken Lore.
- Add a section that tallies up your points at the end of your story. You can look here for an example. (Worth 1 BONUS point)
