A beautiful moment, an ugly moment, a happy moment, a sad moment, a sublime moment, a painful moment… Moments that I can’t make a sense of… Moments of failure, moments of victory… Moments of shock, moments of denial. Moments of awe, moments of inspiration… Moments of high achievements, moments of endless failures… A moment when I lost something precious, a moment when I gained something precious…

Moments of anticipation of winning — I feel the exhilaration. Moments of anticipation of losing — I have that deep sinking feeling. A silently-crying moment — I pretend to be fine. A feeling-of-choking-in-the-throat moment — I can’t share.

Moments of being one with nature, moments of witnessing an earthworm working its way through the soil, moments of seeing a sparkling dewdrop, moments of seeing the growth of a green leaf, moments in the rain and under the rainbow… Moments of contentment even with a morsel or half a glass of water… Moments of gratitude when I can share more than a morsel with someone needy.

Moments when I can’t tell what I’m feeling, but still want to express those feelings… Moments when I can’t revolt, but still want to revolt in some way… Moments when I remember something long lost and want to pay tribute… Moments of gaiety, moments of gaping despair… Moments when I was discarded like I was nothing, moments when I was praised like I was the only supreme being… Moments when I did something good to someone, moments when someone did good to me… Moments when I feel the bliss… Moments when I stare into that black hole, sometimes…

There are many more moments. Moments that form the crux of my living. Moments that further spark that moment that leads me to write my poetry!

In response to Subliminal Verses by Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar, with lots of gratitude.
