Mom Murders Her Son After Becoming Paranoid About The War In Ukraine
An alleged ‘’brain fog’’ that destroyed a family.

Natalia Aleksandrovna was a 42-year-old computer graphic designer from Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Aleksandrovna, together with her Ukrainian-born husband Jeff Hitchcock and their two children, Oliver and Leo, lived in an apartment in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
Until, one day, disaster struck.
The day of March 30th, 2022, was supposed to be a pleasant day for the Hitchcocks. Leo and Oliver were on spring break, while Natalia and Jeff had taken the day off from work to spend time with their family.
From playing video games to watching movies together, the Hitchcock family seemed to be having a great time.
At noon, Jeff started feeling tired and decided to take a nap.
However, not even an hour later, he was awakened by Leo to some bitter news.
‘‘Oliver is dead’’ said Leo in distress.
Upon hearing that, Jeff immediately ran to Oliver’s room just to find him lying on the bedroom floor at the base of his bunk bed. Natalia was standing right beside him.
The couple exchanged a death stare, and the tension in the room rapidly rose.
‘‘I killed Oliver’’ said Natalia just to break the eerie silence present between them.
Without saying a single word, Jeff picked up Oliver, transported him to the living room, and placed him on the couch.
He then began performing CPR on him while simultaneously trying to call 911.
As Jeff was frantically trying to keep his son alive, Natalia grabbed a 6-inch-long kitchen knife and started wandering around the house, threatening to kill everyone.
After witnessing Natalia abruptly turn hostile, Jeff rushed up to her and managed to disarm her.
But when he tried returning to tending Oliver, she picked up another knife, this time threatening to cut her own heart out.
Yet, once again, Jeff managed to safely disarm her while only sustaining a small cut to his ring finger.
While desperately waiting for the police to arrive, Jeff tried to mollify Natalia, but his attempts were unsuccessful. There simply was no end to her erratic behavior.
Shortly after, officers arrived on the scene and apprehended her.
Oliver was transported to the Children’s Hospital in Wauwatosa. He had apparent bruises all around his neck and was deemed by doctors to be in critical condition.
Sadly, he passed away two days later. He was just eight years old.
The official cause of his death was strangulation at the hands of his own mother.

During questioning, Natalia told police interrogators that on March 30th, 2022, she woke up at approximately 7:00 A.M. after barely getting two hours of sleep. According to her, she had been suffering from severe sleep deprivation for almost a week up to that point.
She added that she had consumed half a bottle of Tylenol pills with the intent of ‘‘falling asleep and never waking up.’’
At approximately 4:00 P.M the same day, she began experiencing a ‘‘brain fog’’, which made her unable to control both her thoughts and actions.
At some point, she started thinking that the Russian government would take her children and abuse them. She also believed Jeff was trying to sell her and the boys to the dark web.
She then decided it would be best to take Oliver’s life as he was the youngest and most vulnerable of the two.
She said that if the Russian government were to take her kids away and abuse them, Oliver would have no fighting chance against them and that she couldn’t bear to watch him suffer.
Jeff, who was also interviewed by police, said that he noticed Natalia’s mental health was starting to decline right after the initiation of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Natalia was concerned about her relatives living in Russia, especially her mother, and desperately wanted to visit them. However, after learning that she couldn’t book a flight to Russia, she became infuriated.
In the days that followed, she began having sudden surges of rage, which were unsettling to the other family members. Besides that, she also started regularly drinking alcohol, despite previously being highly against it.
Soon after, Natalia’s anger turned into pure paranoia.
According to Jeff, she wanted to purchase several odd, and sometimes illegal, items like a camping stove, survival gear, guns, and knives.
She said such items were mandatory if they wanted to survive a Russian invasion.
Jeff ended up buying a camping stove along with fuel and some extra food to make her feel safer and keep her as sane as possible.
Though, as it turned out, his attempt fell short.
On April 5th, 2022, Natalia Aleksandrovna Hitchcock was charged with 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide. Her bond was set at $1 million.
She now remains in prison as her legal battle is still ongoing.
