Mitch McConnell’s Wife Is A Chinese American

She served in Trump’s Cabinet

Mitch McConnell is a long-time Republican leader.

Although Trump has called several times for Senator Mitch McConnell to resign or to otherwise be relieved of his position as the leader of the Republican U.S. Senators, the two once seemed to be allies. McConnell has appeared to support Trump.

It is ironic that McConnell basically sticks up for Trump after the bad words Trump has uttered about McConnell and his wife Elaine Chao. It is reported that Trump and McConnell have not spoken since December 2020.

A story by David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement, Alternet was titled: “McConnell invokes wife when asked about Trump’s Hitlerian ‘blood poisoning’ remarks.”

Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell invoked his wife, former Trump Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, when asked if he was “comfortable” with Donald Trump repeatedly saying immigrants in the United States are “poisoning the blood of our country,” remarks that have been said to “closely reflect those of Adolf Hitler as the German leader argued his case for Nazism.”

“Are you comfortable with your party’s leading presidential candidate referring to legal immigrants as people who are poisoning the blood of our country?” CNN’s Manu Raju asked the GOP Minority Leader.

McConnell never answered the question directly, instead offering as his reply: “Well, it strikes me that didn’t bother him when he appointed Elaine Chao Secretary of Transportation.”

Trump has spoken out against immigrants on numerous occasions. He has called them derogatory names as he is prone to do about many people. His remarks appear to be racist because he seems to have no quarrel with immigrants who look like white Americans.

McConnell’s wife served as Secretary of Transportation under Trump. She resigned from Trump’s Cabinet after the violence on January 6, 2021. Trump has made racist slurs about Chao calling her McConnell’s “China-loving wife, Coco Chow.”

Chao was born in Taiwan and came to the United States at the age of eight with her family. Her father became a very successful businessman in New York. She married McConnell in 1993. McConnell was married to his first wife in 1968 and divorced in 1980.

It appears that Trump can say whatever he wants, even make totally racist remarks, and there are people who will still support him in spite of anything he says or does.
