Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Look, I’ve Come Back from the Mall

Why do holiday shoppers never make good detectives?

Because they always follow the “sale” leads and end up in a shopping spree!

Ah! Is finally here. It’s the season of shopping chaos and gift-wrapping madness!

As I stepped into the consumer battlefield, armed with a list longer than my patience, I couldn’t help but wonder if Santa ever considered relocating his gift-giving operation to the nearest mall.

I mean, I absolutely adore the holidays, truly, I do! However, all this rush, the mad dash for the best deals, all the noise, all the racing from one mall to the next just to ensure no gift is missed — it feels exhausting. Maybe in the past, it wasn’t such a big deal for me, I used to deal wirh this easily. Now, with the new member of the family- my 5 months old baby boy, my perspective seems to have shifted. I’ve started yearning to see beyond the commercial frenzy of the holidays, to capture the true essence. Who knows…

But for the time being, here we are, in that season when our wallets, along with everything linked to them, and even our minds, are stretched to the limit.

For me,navigating through the sea of holiday shoppers is like participating in a festive version of the Hunger Games. Dodging shopping carts and mastering the art of “aisle sprinting” became my unexpected workout routine, I don’t even go to Gym these days.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, will I make it out without turning into a human bumper car?

Oncel there, I found myself in the strategic gift selection process. It’s like a puzzle where the pieces are hidden among shelves of blinking lights and singing snowmen and Santas. Do I choose the fuzzy socks that might be mistaken for small animals or the mug that claims to make the world’s best coffee?

Decisions, decisions, mirror, mirror, give me a sign! Or the wisdom to stay home next time!

As for wrapping gifts…every time I receive nicely wrapped presents, I can’t help but wonder, ‘How much time did it take to create such a perfect look?” Me? I can spend two hours with gift wrap in hand, and all I manage is a crumpled mess, maybe with some colorful patches and occasional holes.

But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right? As I wrestle with ribbons and attempt fancy bows, my gifts might not win any beauty contests, but they sure come with a touch of my unique wrapping style. Perhaps one day, I’ll unveil the masterpiece of gift-wrapping, but until then, my friends and family will have to appreciate the abstract art of my colorful presents.

And almost forget the ultimate challenge: finding the perfect parking spot. It’s a game of luck, patience, and sometimes a touch of holiday magic.

Mirror, mirror, am I destined to circle this lot forever or shall I be granted a spot close enough to make the trek with my shopping bags feel less like a marathon?

Finally, I leave the mall feeling like a champion, a bit wrapped up like a ball of yarn. It’s funny how this shopping stuff works. Mirror, mirror on the wall, did I conquer the shopping season with style or simply survive with a dash of humor?

So let the gift-giving games begin, and may the odds of getting what you wished for be ever in your favor!

But as we exchange gifts, let the laughter flow and the warmth of friendship and family fill the air. It’s not just about the presents; it’s about creating moments that sparkle in our memories.

I’m more then ever convinced we should all hit the “pause” button and take a moment to think before loading up our bags with too much stuff. Because, you know, you can’t buy lovely memories from any kind of store, whether it’s a regular one or a super-duper fancy one.

May the shopping force be with you !

Go rock the retail chaos!💪
