Mindfulness in the Shower

While generally relaxing, mindfulness can feel like a chore if you’re tired or recovering from a busy day.
A solution remains to still reap benefits from mindfulness even on the days it’s challenging to squeeze in. The trick is combining showering and mindfulness.
As an activity that requires retreating from other tasks, showering lends itself to peaceful mindfulness sessions.
The trick is to just focus on your senses. You can note the warm water hitting your skin. You can smell your body wash flooding the shower and hear the water running. While noticing all of this, you can also breathe deeply and bring your attention to it. Each time your mind wanders, you just redirect your thoughts to your senses.
Since the shower is a calming environment, you’ll likely feel especially relaxed after a mindful shower.
