Abstract

The article titled "Mightier than the sword" delves into the dual nature of words, acknowledging their ability to cause deep psychological wounds, akin to emotional bullets that leave unseen but palpable scars. It’s easy to underestimate the power of words They say the pen is mightier than the sword Emotion fuelled bullets that penetrate the mind Leaving insidious scars, unseen but felt Broken relationships, rage and mistrust Misplaced aggression pulling up walls No one can break down because they are built by your manipulation

“Words are the source of misunderstandings.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Bruises fade into insignificance But your threats fester inside Tainting the beauty of the world Magical technicolour wonder splashed with darkness It’s not the unspeakable agony you bestowed on me It’s not the innocence you stole from my eyes that wakes gentle slumber screaming inside

You took my worth, my esteem, my sparkle You took my childhood and tossed it to the floor I am powerless to the legacy you left me A poison coursing through my veins

The weapon that broke me will be used to free me I will write of truth, love and hope You can’t take back what you've taken away but the demons you left are ones I will slay Words have unlimited potentional, I know this is true and I will use every one until I’m rid of you
