“Midnight’s Lament: A Verse on Sleepless Nights”
Poem for a friend who silently struggles at night

In the deep of night, when stars softly gleam,
I wander in shadows, lost in a dream.
Eyes heavy with weariness, mind in a haze,
In the absence of sleep, where thoughts ablaze.
Restless hours pass, each one a slow toll,
As the night grows older, the mind takes its stroll.
Tossed in a sea of fragmented thought,
In the realm of insomnia, where sleep is sought.
Dark circles bloom ‘neath weary eyes,
As dawn breaks through the silent skies.
A weary soul yearns for slumber’s embrace,
But in the grasp of insomnia, there’s no solace.
Oh, the silent struggle of the sleepless night,
Where exhaustion reigns, yet dreams take flight.
In the quiet hours, where rest should reign,
Lies the poet’s lament, the sleepless refrain.
