Mid-Week Motivation: Make it To the Top
Keep on grinding
“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ’Til your good is better and your better is best.” — St. Jerome
That was, is, and will be my motto, my mantra, and my guiding principle. From school to work, from relationships to hobbies — I applied it to everything I did.
However, I didn’t hunt for perfection but for progress.
Quotes have a powerful effect on my mind and emotions. You might see in my “About” section that I say I write about quotes that inspire me; I have a quote in an extended description. And I use quotes from time to time in my articles to emphasize or summarize a certain point, or just because they fit so well into that article :)
The right quote, at the right time, helped me overcome a lack of motivation or a challenging situation or just made me feel happy.
My goal was to make it to the top. And I kept on grinding, never gave up, took on any challenging task or ambitious goal. And I made it in one way or another.
I celebrated every achievement, no matter how small.
I learned from every mistake, no matter how big.
That was the formula I found, and it helped me keep the balance, without resting on my laurels when I succeeded and without sinking into depression when I made a mistake or something did not turn out the way I wanted.
Here is the takeaway:
Read some motivational quotes when you feel down or need an impulse to start a project or make the next step.
Reading a good quote will instantaneously change your entire thought process, directing your energies towards your goal. But hey, this is not going to be enough, no, no, no. Don’t read it that way. Motivation is like a fire. It can keep you warm, but you still need to feed it. In other words, motivation is important, but action is essential.
I found this interesting article for a more serious, scientific approach to the topic of motivational quotes.
So, what is your favorite quote? I’m a quote addict. Don’t let me suffer from withdrawal :)
