Microfiction: The Euphoria of Night

I love this little snippet. The moment before a vampire pounces is my favorite to imagine, both from the victims and the hunters stance.

The Euphoria of Night

He hovers over me, the dark sky visible over his shoulder. The ground is cold and wet from a fall rain. I am shivering from that, as well as fear and excitement. His eyes glow red, and the cars and other street sounds I heard so clearly at the other end of this alley have begun to fade.

He lowers his head and licks the column of my neck. I feel his erection growing as it presses against my stomach.

“Gotcha, my sweet,” and I feel his smile forming against my neck. I feel the erotica slip of fangs against my neck as the euphoria of night overcomes me.
