Little Galaxies

Microcosm to Macrocosm

Have you ever felt like you were one? Alone? A little galaxy of your own?

Alone. Photos ©Erika Burkhalter

You turned your face up to the sun. If there were others, you did not know.

Reaching for the sun.

And then, you met another one, who seemed a bit like you… But this one’s face was a bit more blue.

And then there were two.

But wait, who are you?????

And, who are you?

And then the we, became three…

And, we are three.

But, there are more… Now, we are four.

Now, we are four.

And, we are all connected, intersected beneath the earth, where we twine our toes together and nod our heads in fair or inclement weather.

Our microbiomes are linked. We drink the same water. And dance in the same breeze.

It’s as if the Goddess blinked and made us each to please a different whim.

And we really do not know if we all just glow in the same sun or if, really, the “we” is One.

So many! All connected by the earth, the sun, the soil and the universal force.
