Origins

You can’t get to a destination without a map or clear directions, yet there are still far too many travelers in motion who can’t tell you where they’re headed or why. Michael Alexander is not one of these travelers.

Michael wasn’t physically born on Lunar Base 3 but one could make the argument that the Michael Alexander we know today came into existence while stationed on Lunar Base 3 during his second assignment in the Space Federation Force. In the year 2725 at the tender age of 25, Michael discovered his place in the cosmos and decided that the only direction to follow was his own. That discovery didn’t come to him in a dream or a start from an unexpected tragedy. It came from the eventual maturation of a soul destined for greatness. As fate deals out random results and unintentional consequences, Michael’s path flowed through a typical path of progression until his 25th year, then the process of maturation took an atypical deviation for him.

Possessing innate spacial awareness abilities, Michael was promoted and assigned to an experimental program focused on the theory of spacial connectivity, the QARC program, created to develop Quantized Advanced Reconnaissance Capabilities. It only got better from there. The initial program directive was to identify individuals who showed exceptional spacial awareness and cognition abilities. QARC technology was primitive by todays standards but it was a tech worthy of sinking a few billion Federation crypto-credits into to validate the theory of spacial connectivity. Turns out there were more than a few individuals that fit the criteria and were as capable as Michael during the initial phases of the program. However Michael stood out as the program developed. As this story is told, Michael was the main reason that the program succeeded.

Spacial awareness and cognition were the cornerstone abilities that were needed for this special program. The technologies under development were a combination of deep space X-band communication devices and neural enhancer drugs used to boost sensory perception. The goal was to create a network of long range communication capabilities that allowed the participants to share locally derived environmental details with others communicating on the same frequencies. The network would only be accessible to participants possessing the tech and training to properly interpret the incoming signals. The locally derived environment signals sent from the distant participants plus any verbal or text messages were superimposed on the receivers sensory cortex. Interpreting the foreign signals was only capable by individuals who were gifted with spacial awareness and heightened cognition traits that were enhanced by neural stimulators.

Michael was the catalyst for program success because his sensory perception was natively exceptional to begin with. After only a few weeks in the program the neural enhancers coupled with the interpretation training routine had the effect of unlocking his native sensory perception gifts to a level that allowed him to gather insight into the thoughts and experiences of others that happened to be in close proximity. This unexpected sensory perception ability, once unlocked in Michael, allowed him to gather insight from non-program participants as long as he was close enough to physically touch them.

Participants would routinely report that their experience felt eerily like another person or persons were sharing their body. Participants also reported the spacial awareness cognition afforded them with the sensation of seeing or feeling the grandeur of multiple locations as if all active participants were in a large theater or stadium and could visibly see all connected parties.

The QARC program was highly successful because once the participants got their land legs and became comfortable with using the tech, they were elevated to a superior level of intel gathering and often referred to as “Super Spies” by program directors. Another contributing factor to QARC program success was that the program directors eagerly sought others that could attain the extraordinary local sensory perception benefits that Michael exhibited.

A lessor known aspect of Michael’s psychological constitution and history was that he was born to a family of moderate means and did not receive the developmental and educational benefits associated with being brought up in affluent social circles. This social disadvantage typically limits what type of job or status a person can achieve. In Michaels case it was and still is a limiting factor of general acceptance and confidence rendered by his peers and superiors.

Michaels ascension to the status of Space Federation agent and becoming the poster boy of the QARC program had much to do with his unyielding will and exceptional physical prowess. As he grew in size and strength during his formative years, his exposure to martial arts not only allowed him to develop exceptional hand to hand combat skills, but his meditative and disciplinary mental skills were fine tuned as well. Michael had always dreamed of a life that would take him to the moon and to other off world planets, and his focus on fulfilling this dream is what led him to joining the Space Federation Force as an infantry man and to his first assignment on Lunar Base 3.

As history would have it, the culmination of Michaels upbringing and developmental progressions led to Michael’s wielding of the base baton combat title for two consecutive seasons on Lunar Base 3. That was the signaling which promoted Michael’s visibility to the QARC program, ultimately leading to his status as the quintessential Space Federation agent, and achieving the monicker of “Super Spy” that all subsequent program participants have since attempted to emulate.
