Caterpillar garden, behind my eyes You are by chance and not design I want to keep you in my mind; my precious thoughts my lullabies

Escape me, they have tried Within me, they have died Their silhouettes collect within the sills behind my eyes

Caterpillar garden, you’re amiss Have you fell faint to heavens kiss? I close my eyes to my surprise My garden is in chrysalis

Butterfly garden, behind my eyes My precious thoughts are butterflies I want to keep you in my mind; clip your wings keep you confined

I beg for them to stay I warn the sills will be their fate I fear that if I set them free My garden will decay
