Looks 👀

Futuristic as you can get, but still looking classy. The AVTR design was inspired by the movie Avatar( released 11 years ago feeling old yet) and is said to be a mix of both human and machine.

Let's take a more of an in-depth look at this unusual yet attractive vehicle.

Look at those wheels! The wheels on the AVTR are able to be driven on any terrain and that's not even the most interesting part! They change colour according to how much traffic there is around you, so if there is a lot it will turn red! The transparent doors are bound to make you feel jealous for those who are lucky enough to be seated inside a vehicle that will leave you drooling as it passes by!

But what about the inside?

Erm, where is the steering wheel, you may be asking 🤯? More on that below! But what about the seating isn't that reminiscent of the hammocks in Avatar? The dashboard is unlike what you have ever seen and notice how there are no acceleration and brake pedals on either side of the two seats! I am wondering how you would pull an emergency stop in this car?

Technology

Drive the car with the motion of your hand! The instant you place your hand on the central console your connected to the car, so now if you move your hand to the left and right the car would follow. You can also hand the controls to the passenger if you wanted to take a break from driving such a luxurious car.

Connecting living beings and machine. 32 bionic flaps at the rear end of the car will mirror whatever action you take whilst driving! When you’re on the move the bionic flaps are light blue and when you are parked or stuck in traffic the flaps turn red. Pretty clear to the drivers behind you right? Hopefully, there will be a lot less honking😛!

So far this car has looks and tech, but it's also sustainable!

Sustainable

How is the car powered? The 32 bionic flaps are actually solar plates that will store energy and redistribute equally to the rest of the car, so other components of the car don’t suck up all the energy.

Vegan leather. The seats are made from recycled material made such as old clothing, flags and PET plastic bottles. Apparently, the seats are so soft it gives the occupants a “welcome home” feeling.

Although it’s unlikely we will ever see a car like this be produced on a mass scale, I do think certain features such as the motion control feature as well as bionic flaps be implemented in future Mercedes cars!
