Perimenopause Came knocking

Now my purse can be found in the fridge!

Author’s Artwork

Perimenopause Came knocking,

Oestrogen’s running away,

Hair took a trip on the wild side,

Mood swings arrived, here to stay.

My brain’s a game of Scrabble,

The letters are all in a brawl,

Thoughts are like tiles, shuffled and tossed,

I misplaced my words.. now I’m lost!

My humor ran away with my wit,

If you see it around,

Stick in lost and found,

I’m sure I will soon forget it!

I can’t find my purse – I just had it,

I swear it was left by the sink!

But of course, there it is,

It’s chilling with the milk and my drink!

My body’s a broken thermostat,

One moment I’m shivering, the next I’m in flames,

Still, it insists on playing these annoying games.

In this perimenopausal stage, I take the lead,

Forgetting names – is now a daily deed.

From laughing to crying, it’s all fair game,

By the way, can you tell me – what’s my real name?

Dedicated to all the fellow ladies who have also put their keys in the fridge…

Hang on in there – together, let’s laugh our way through perimenopause and beyond!
