Memory Dulled
Everything Fades with time

You were an old guitar scuffed from beaded bracelets, keeping time with each strum. You were beguiling blue eyes playing hide and seek with bleached blonde locks. You were my heartbeat thrumming in time with my ecstasy. You were my first bite of love, sweet to the tongue and bitter in the belly.
I was a vessel to fill with your thoughts and dreams and wait for admiration to pour forth. I was your doting fan captivated by your glance, cavorting in your music. I was the girl willing to become the woman to bear your offspring. I was the insecure hand always tugging you back.
We were sweet whispers carried on a soft summer night. We were jealous jabs under the fevered sun of day. We were honeyed tears licked playfully from rosy cheeks. We were the salty lamentations of shattered hearts.
You are a memory existing in the fragments of half heard music. I am a woman, eons from the girl tripping head down into your life. We are strangers, nothing but bittersweet memories binding us over the travails of time.
My auld lang syne when I shiver in the frigid night. My lesson hard earned. My razbliuto.
Very thankful to the great prompt: Microcosm
