Memories of the Green-Skinned Train

What color is the train you’re on?

People often say that “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”, but when the distance is too far, this might not hold true.

I came across a question about “memories of green-skinned trains” on a Q&A platform, and coincidentally, I have some memories related to green-skinned trains.

Green-skinned trains refer to the mainstream train models used in railway transportation in the early years. They were named so because their bodies were painted green.

These trains generally ran at speeds of around 120 kilometers per hour. In 1996, I once traveled with my mother and sister on such a green-skinned train to the capital city. The journey of over 2000 kilometers took approximately 30 hours.

Thanks to the rapid development of the railway network in recent years, the operating speed of high-speed trains can now be stable at almost 300 kilometers per hour.

Last year, my family and I only needed 8 hours to reach the capital city, which had been separated from us for over twenty years, by taking this high-speed train.

These trains have gradually been discontinued. The train I saw was transported after being discontinued and turned into a tourist attraction for visitors to explore.
