Short Story Collection

Memories of Autumn

Drabble sample

Courtesy of Pixabay.com

No one sat on the park bench again after Max left that last day of September.

As the leaves slowly and meticulously changed color that autumn, and then fell one by one into the sea of their siblings on a bed touched by ancestors; they settled in for the long and fragrant journey of fragmentation.

But Max would never breathe in the splendor again, never close his ancient eyes in tearful bliss as the leaves whispered and rustled among themselves.

His memories of autumn were gone now. Remembered by only a few, and then, only by one who remembered everything.

Hear the story instead?
