Memories Bring Joy
A gratitude story

I was reminded of something to be grateful for this morning. When I lovingly plan an event and join with family to make it happen a memory is created.
Have you ever thought that when making a memory you are literally creating your future?
Well neither had I until I listened to the radio this morning.
Memories made in the present create our future. In the future we relive our memories.
These were the reminders that I took away from listening to the radio this morning, which I have paraphrased.
You can listen again here. (The link takes you out of Medium.)
This writer finds it hard to let go of memories too, noticing that objects can be imbued with memories, which makes them difficult to let go of. Read about that here.
I am grateful for the opportunity to create memories.
I wrote a book about a childhood memory. The memory started out happily with a Christmas gift from my father, became sad, and then ended happily in the end. You can read more about it here.
With thanks to Delaney Patterson for the November gratitude prompt.
