“Memoirist Idol” Announcement
Round One results, and Round Two voting will soon begin!
We know you’re dying to know the results of Round One of Memoirist Idol. We’re running a day or two behind schedule here at The Memoirist due to some unforeseen circumstances. Or maybe we’re just a bunch of procrastinating writers. Either way, the Boss of Memoir, KiKi Walter, asked me to send out the announcement.
As her Creative Misdirector, I have the esteemed honor to announce the winners of Round One, and to let you know that Round Two of the Memoirist Idol competition will be underway in just a few days. Stay tuned for the official announcement and the new poll.
We received a whopping 89 stories to the contest, and we can’t thank you all enough. Every single one was beautiful in its own way, and we hope you enjoyed writing them as much as we enjoyed reading them.
In the meantime, we’re thrilled to present the 10 semifinalists who will be flown out to Hollywood to read their stories on the world-famous Memoirist Idol stage! Just kidding — we don’t have that kind of money. Also, we want to stay home and read on our couches like you do.
A reminder on the prizes:
- Grand prize “Memoirist Idol” wins $100
- 2nd place wins $50
- 3rd place wins $25
*One wildcard each will be chosen by KiKi, Sally, and yours truly. They will be in the announcement and on the final 13-story poll which we expect to launch in a few days.
