Says Somsubhra Banerjee, our in-house editor, about whom this little scribbling is.
He is a software engineer by profession and an avid reader of whatever he happens to lay his hands on. And an admirer of silence, dogs, and food, in no particular order. Work keeps him busy throughout the day, but he does find his own sweet time at night to scribble a little. For him, words flow better at night time. He got introduced to Medium through Haiku Hub (a lovely publication by Sherry Kappel) and is enjoying it so far.

What “WRITING” means for him — in his own words — what makes him write.
On words and writing:
I remember having started writing some stuff based on Enid Blyton’s books and a Bengali language comic. I just changed the characters from Famous Five, giving them Indianized names and that somehow gave me a belief that I could write. Time’s clock ticked on, and in college, I started writing for some magazines, and that gave me immense happiness. Then fast forward to a year back when I decided to give my short fiction stories, a home in the form of a blog (https://bongateur.wordpress.com/). Writing, to me, is therapeutic and so enriching!
My childhood was shaped by eminent writers starting from Enid Blyton, Herge, Goscinny and Uderzo, Ruskin Bond, Khushwant Singh to Rabindranath Tagore, Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, Sharadindu Bandopadhyay, Satyajit Ray, Suchitra Bhattacharya, Sunil Ganguly and later to JK Rowling, Khaled Hosseini, Haruki Murakami, and so many other writers!
