Let’s get to the point and introduce you to one of our editors — Priyanka Srivastava. She is based in Singapore, and started her journey of words with a food blog, which later turned into a rampant scribbling of poems and verses, something which can be seen in her Medium Profile.
In her own words, she is a proud mom, an artist, a writer, an avid reader and someone who believes in living every second of her life. Notyet100 — that’s how she defines herself in the virtual world. Her daily rituals, that keep her sanguine, are — weaving words into verses, reading novels, painting, and sketching.
Most of the time, she can be found busy in managing her creative and personal life. She also does poetry readings, as it provides her a different rainbow of experiences — giving a voice to her words. We are extremely happy and blessed to have her on board. We don’t know how long this journey of ours will go, because life has its habit of taking weird turns. But Literary Impulse hopes to enjoy every moment of its journey with Priyanka as one of its esteemed editors.
What “WRITING” means for her, — in her own words — what makes her write.

It just happened, I guess the void was too vast and with time I learned to find solace in words and at the end of the day, I would sit with my thoughts and bury them on the page.
That’s how I started writing and now there’s no end to this. Because reading keeps me sane even when I am doing the mundane things as I know that there are various books, which are waiting for me or there are those few words in the deepest recesses of my mind which need to bloom.

My love for Non-fiction and Essays keeps me rooted, I remember the first essay book which hooked me to words was in a different way. It was “The view from the cheap seats” by Neil Gaiman after which I have read many books by other authors such as Italo Calvino, Virginia Woolf, Joan Didion, Margaret Atwood, and countless other writers.

I know my journey with words started very late in my life but now that I am in this fragile world I will be painting dreams in the sky, opening windows to breathe, to be unseen and still create wonders. What can be more beautiful than this?
There’s no end to writing because when we pick a new page we are looking for a new beginning and sadly there’s no end to this as it’s a war with our own mind which goes on and on. Somehow in our words, we find that hope and when we fail to do we read and search for that light. It’s a cycle that needs to be complete, it’s a reason which makes writers like me breathe.
