Leonardo AI: The Stunning New FREE AI Image Tool

Is Leonardo The New Midjourney?

There’s a new cowboy in town, and there’s a reason why users are comparing it to Midjourney.

Leonardo.AI is amazingly good at generating stunning images and it has some really interesting features that I haven’t seen yet with other AI image platforms.

Just a brief glance at the community feed, and you can see that these are the type of quality images that you would see from Midjourney.

Generate Images Based on Models

When you first get into the app (website), you will notice that there are platform models that you can choose to generate images:

Deliberate 1.1, Luma, Leonardo creative, etc…

By clicking on a model, you can get a description of the model and view samples generated from that model:

You can then click the “Generate With This Model” button…

And this then opens up a really slick UI… where you can add your prompt, change models, number of images, sizes, and guidance scale.

Editing Images

Once you’ve generated images, Leonardo also includes the ability to edit images, simply hover over the image to launch the editor referred to as Canvas:

Made by author on Leonardo.ai

This then opens the editor which includes masking, erasing, and the ability to download the image.

Train Your Own Models

One of the coolest features in Leonardo, which I haven’t seen anywhere else is the ability to train your own models.

So the idea is you can upload a bunch of images of similar style, and then save that as a model for future image generations. You can even share your model with the community.

And not only do you have access to your own model to generate images, but a community-shared set of fine-tuned models:

Get Access To Leonardo

The Good news is that right now Leonardo is totally FREE.

To get access, you just need to go to the Leonardo.ai website and click on the get early access button…

By adding your email, you will then be sent a link to join the discord channel. When you join the discord channel, you just need to introduce yourself and fill out a form, Here are the proper instructions…

Please go to 👑│introductions to make an introduction and ✨│priority-early-access will be unlocked, you must fill out a form and in 24 hours or a little more (due to demand), the invitation will be sent to you by email.

I was able to get access in a couple of hours, so hopefully, that works for you as well.

Final Thought

I know there are a lot of AI generative platforms, some free and some paid, but honestly, none of them come close to Midjourney when it comes to high-quality artistically stunning images and art.

I can’t say for sure that Leonardo matches Midjourney, I still think Midjourney is the leader, but it’s definitely the closest I’ve seen so far.

Did I mention it was free right now?

Leonardo’s unique feature set of fine-tuned model selections, creating your own models, editing images, and the speed and quality of output make Leonardo a perfect addition to your AI image toolkit.
