I have often wondered why you have mirrored this feral-eyed mythical beast.

There is an elegance about you That is far from ferocious, Perhaps an intimidating beauty, That scares off potential suitors.

Is it the sparkle in your eyes, That glittering salty sky, That makes men stop and stare, A fatal final glare.

They say you are of decaying, putrid flesh With toxic slithering hair But I smell a pleasant scent An aroma beyond this realm.

True, with a divine touch, Mortal men Do not stand a chance, For they lay as statues in your wake.

You walk with grace and poise A goddess in your own right A beauty that no mortal man can ignore.

They stand and stare in awe, Captivated by your allure, Unable to turn away from your fiery gaze.

You may be dark and dangerous, But oh, so very beautiful, A creature unlike any they have known.

So they stand as statues, Silent and still, Petrified when they catch your eyes.

But I, I see beyond the facade, To the woman beneath the myth, In your gaze, I see a spark, A fire that burns so bright, Standing tall, In a world where men define the rules.

From a tender age You bore the role of provider For your friends and kin alike.

Perhaps that is why Medusa is imprinted on your arm.

In her, you saw a symbol of strength, A warrior who fought for what she believed, Even when the world tried to bring her down.

Medusa is etched into your skin, A reminder of your power, your will to overcome, A testament to the battles you have won.

For you know that she is more than just a myth, More than just a pretty face or a deadly gaze, She is a survivor that has overcome her fears.

And so you wear Medusa with pride, As a symbol of your strength and courage.
