Gratitude and Appreciation
Medium: Thanks for Banners and More!
Medium resolved our banner issue, put writer names back, and stabilized the platform.

Background and Context
We lost our banners in ILLUMINATION and ILLUMINATION-Curated stories on 02 October 2020. Banners in our stories are important to our readers.

As soon as I notice the change, I sent a request to Medium support.
Medium initially responded they were unable to replicate the issue.
The initial response was disappointing.
Stories in our publications used to look like the view from the following screen capture.

After recent changes on Medium, we had a different view of stories as shown in this screen capture.

I created a post last week and sent the link to the Medium support team.
After this post, Medium informed that after further investigation, the issue only related to publication owners and editors.
The support team raised a service ticket for the design team.
What happened then?
The problem resolved!
It is excellent news that the banners are back from editorial view today.
Here is a screen capture with the banner to my latest story on ILLUMINATION.

The purpose of this post to show my appreciate and thank Medium support for taking the issue seriously and driving it a solution.
The critical message is Medium listens, take actions to resolve the problems, and produces timely solutions for the platform.
To substantiate this claim, I also noticed that the writer names on the first page are back.
There was a considerable amount of angst among writers, as documented in this post. Many of the writers sent a change request.
Medium acknowledged the concern and committed to fixing the issue.
As promised, Medium resolved the issue in a few days.
Here is how the Medium front page show now. I assume it is different for everyone as a customized view, but my point is we can see the writer names now. This action by Medium makes many writers and readers happy.

It is an impressive record for a large content platform to make the requested change in such a short time.
Besides, since last week, I noticed an improvement in the stability of the platform.
Conclusion
Considering these three timely service improvements, I want to show my gratitude to Medium and send my appreciation to the hard-working design, implementation, and support teams.
We still have a few other issues which I plan to cover in another post.
In the meantime, if you have noticed an improvement in your editing, writing, and reading experience recently, please comment.
Thank you for reading.
