We start 1 April, 2021

Here’s how it will work: The editors will choose an essay topic. Writers will have one week to enter their essay before the deadline. Editors will then deliberate for a week to vote on a winner. The winner will get paid.

We would love to have one of these money essays each week in perpetuity, but only have enough money for 10.

If you would like to see more money essays, you can seriously help by promoting the TBI Ko-fi page, and the RedBubble store (links at the bottom).

The more money TBI can raise, the more everyone can get paid. So shake your money makers! Write, enter, win, promote, donate, rinse, repeat.

The rules are pretty basic. See below. Don’t forget to read the fine print. Let's make some noise! Let’s change the world! Let’s earn some money!

Rules

1. Follow TBI Submission Guidelines to a T. Even the littlest deviation will disqualify the essay from the cash prize.
2. Follow Demeter DeLune’s Sexiest Story format (with special emphasis on kicker, title, and subtitle.)
3. Go follow TBI’s Ko-Fi page.
4. Follow all the TBI editors.
5. Follow TBI.
6. Follow our RedBubble store. Favorite and share.
7. The essay should be no longer than 500 words. But can be as short as 50 words.
8. Must include TBI Ko-fi and RedBubble links at the bottom.
9. Essays will be judged by TBI editors.
10. Only one Essay/author per contest. We welcome essays on similar topics but please only enter 1 into the contest. There will be only 1 winner. No 2nd place, no runners-up.
11. The essay may take any form: poetry, satire, fiction, personal essay, oped, etc.
12. Editors’ decisions are final.

Prizes

The winner will receive actual money ($10.00). The essay will be featured on Ko-fi and across all social media. The winner will be offered a guest blog post on the Ko-fi page where personal links can be and should be promoted. The winner will be featured in that month’s TBI newsletter.

Fine Print
