Maybe Some Stereotypes Are True — And We Need to Be Accountable

Peoples’ lives matter more than your agenda.

Tina Knowles (Beyoncé’s mother) recently produced a documentary called “Profiled: The Black Man” that works to debunk the stereotypes black men have faced through history.

Black women have been dragging the trailer for this documentary (as they should).

There’s already a petition to get the documentary pulled.

Why are black women so against this? Well, we can start with how Tina Knowles decided to produce and release the trailer for this documentary in response to the recent femicide march.

If you don’t know, there will be a femicide march sometime later this year for black women to fight against the alarming murders of black women by black men in particular.

She did this to combat black women telling the truth and defending themselves.

But whatever.

I find it weird that there’s always a “response” to positive things black women do as if we’re bothering someone.

But here’s the thing:

Why can’t we acknowledge that some stereotypes are true in the black community?

Some black women are defending black men because they don’t want to use “white supremacist rhetoric” against them.

In reality, they just don’t want to acknowledge that the stereotype is true.

There are countless data online that point to black women being the highest victims of intimate partner violence. Who is more likely to be partners with black women? Black men.

Look at every stat.

Murder, domestic violence, rape — it’s them more than any other race.

I can’t be silent or nice about it because black women are dying from this issue.

This isn’t about black men’s feelings or fighting against white people — this is about black women and our safety.

The same is true for the black gay community specifically.

Look, I’ve always had the black LGBTQ community’s back, but I can’t get behind this.

One of my favorite YouTubers (who is a gay black man) is trying to convince his followers by reading random articles online that heterosexual people spread HIV the most.

Now, I know what would run through your head right now.

“You’re a homophobe!!! Cancel her!!!”

But hear me out for a second.

I’ve looked up tons of academic articles and studies done by the CDC and they all point to these facts:

  • HIV/AIDS is the most prevalent in the black community
  • Male-to-male contact is the highest transmission factor for HIV

C’mon now.

I watch a lot of gay black male YouTubers and 3/4 of them have HIV. That can’t just be some rare occurrence.

This isn’t to say that all black gay males have HIV, but a good amount of them do.

But there are also “straight” black men who practice same-sex intercourse too, making it even more prevalent in the black community.

Again, maybe some stereotypes are TRUE.

Peoples’ Lives Matter More Than Your Agenda

I hate how we’ve become such a liberal/cancel-culture generation that we ignore literal facts about minorities just to be more “inclusive.”

I won’t play that game.

Lives are at stake. Black women are dying.

I don’t care about your damn agenda. The facts are the facts.

I’d rather live in reality than delusion.

Stereotypes like these aren’t made out of thin air. There’s usually something that prompts them to become stereotypes.

I’m not saying ALL stereotypes are true, but SOME of them are.

And it’s better to acknowledge that now before they come back to kill us later.
