Matches Go Out In The Water

Poetry

I’m the water You’re the fire The world was yours But it was never your desire

Failure after failure You lost your heart You lost your beauty You lost your art

Earth never grounded Suffocating air Illuminating nature Addiction always nurtured

You never found a home for your love Love for you was toxic Love for you was blinding Love for you was binding Love for you was never finding Love for you was never good timing

I wish I could hold your heart and mend it I wish I could hug your body and heal it I wish I could caress your mind and tend it I wish I could hold your hand and feel it I wish I could take your pain and destroy it I wish I could displace your regret and kill it I wish I could take your dimmed fire and light it

So long for now, though.
