In previous versions, incorporating words into designs could be a hit-or-miss affair (mostly miss). However, with V6, Midjourney has significantly improved this feature, allowing us to integrate text into our artworks in more complex and interesting ways. Whether it’s creating comic strip bubbles filled with dynamic expressions like “Pow!” and “Zoinks!” or arranging rosebuds into an elegant “S,” this new ability opens up a myriad of creative possibilities.

However, it’s important to note that this feature isn’t perfect yet. You might need to iterate a few times to get the words right, but the process is part of the fun and exploration. Fun With Words

For this article, I did not worry much about perfect spelling for all the words and focused more on showing what sorts of things can be done and how. Each image and the words on it are going to be a different challenge and will likely take a few iterations to get the ideal image.

Longer phrases are still hit-and-miss; shorter phrases are generally better. It can help to break your words up into separate quotes. I have not found a single way that works for everything, so I recommend trying the simplest way first, and if it is not working, try breaking it up. Just be aware that adding the words in Photoshop or a similar app in post-work may be more efficient for some purposes.

Midjourney V6 has not shipped the Vary(Region) feature yet; once that feature is added back in for V6, it will be easier to correct the imperfect spellings. According to the January 10, 2024 Midjourney Office Hours, the Vary(Region) should be rolled out in January or February.
