Marinated Ahi
An Hawaiian Treasure
The Big Island of Hawaii is blessed with a private fleet of native fishermen that provide Ahi or Yellow-Fin Tuna to our markets daily.
My Favorite Marinade for Two:
4 oz low sodium organic Soy Sauce
3 Tablespoons Dejon Mustard
2 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
1 Teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
Combine and shake
Optional: Add 1 oz water; finely chopped garlic; and or ginger to taste.
Preparation and Cooking:
Cut an 8-ounce portion of Ahi into strips
Place in glass container and add marinade
Marinate for one hour [Min.]
Preheat frying pan with coconut oil
Sear the Ahi on all four sides on medium heat [ less than 2 minutes]
Pour in marinade and simmer for 2+ minutes
Serve over a bed of Jasmine or brown rice with steamed veggies. Dab the simmered marinade over the Ahi and rice!
