Greetings Poets,

I hope you all are doing good. I am here with March’s second-week prompt of Lifeline.

This week’s prompt is about Friendship. Friendship is a vital part of our lives.

“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.” – Muhammad Ali

Friendship is the most beautiful thing in life. Friends are the people who care for you, love you, and always be there for you. They bring happiness to our lives. They are go-to people whenever we need help. Having good friends in life is beneficial.

Reasons why you need friends in life

  1. They provide comfort in life
  2. They encourage you in difficult times
  3. They give you confidence
  4. They provide mental support

We can easily make so many friends online and offline. What truly matters is, it’s hard to find true friends. Since childhood, I have always made friends who are honest. For me, honesty is my first priority. I don’t care about the person’s caste, look, or status. For me, the person's honesty is something that I look for before making them, my friends.

Finding a true friend is something that is the toughest task in the world.

I ended my friendship with one of my BFF who was very close to me because he was dishonest with me. We were together for about 6 years. It was hard for me, but I wasn't able to let go of it.

“I look for these qualities and characteristics in people. Honesty is number one, respect, and absolutely the third would have to be loyalty.”

-Summer Altice

I am a person who attaches to people very closely, not just people but even with things also. I still have many things from my childhood that I carry with me today. If someone makes any mistake, it is hard for me to let go. I know sometimes I need to take things easy but I just couldn't do it. I am not a person who can not easily forgive.

If I am into a relationship even it is a friendship I will give my 100%. Therefore I also expect the other person do the same with me. But, this is not the case every time. Different people have different values and priorities. I still remember my BFF and I tried to reach him out. However, it seems like people move on easily and the value of friendship we shared in childhood has been changed completely.

“I have a loyalty that runs in my bloodstream, when I lock into someone or something, you can’t get me away from it because I commit that thoroughly. That’s in friendship, that’s a deal, that’s a commitment. Don’t give me paper — I can get the same lawyer who drew it up to break it. But if you shake my hand, that’s for life.”

-Jerry Lewis

When people grow, they change and move on. Today I want you all to remember someone who was very dear to you and you forget them completely as you grew in life. A person with whom you made some best memories of life. Remember that person, remember those memories, and if you are able to reach them out. Then take your phone call them or text them.

This week’s prompt is,

Friendship is a type of human connection that makes people happier and healthier in every possible way. Write a poem about your best friend, or somebody you’ve lost.

You all have something to say to the person who was very dear to you and you have lost them in your life. It's time to share your emotions.

Here poem that I wrote to my BFF

Dear friend, You are someone with whom, I find myself. You are someone with whom, I find my smile back. You are someone with whom, I can just be myself. I remember you, every day in the light of the sun, and at night by seeing the moon. You were a part of my life, then you just leave my life, like we were nothing. I remember those beautiful moments, When we made a promise of staying together. I remember those days when it was hard to stay quiet. because we have so much to talk about, But now it seems like you don't have Time just to say hi. No matter how far we will stay, You always be in heart and, Always be my BFF.

I would like to invite all the poets of Lifeline to respond to this prompt.
