Whether they’re fiction or non-fiction, what are your favorite books related to music?

For this month’s Writing Challenge in Plethora of Pop, I’m asking my fellow readers, writers, music lovers, and everyone else in the known (or unknown) universe the following question:

What books do you love that have something to do with music?

They can be any kinds of books: biographies, autobiographies, encyclopedias, reference books, etc. They don’t have to be about particular musicians or bands. The books can also be about genres of music, studies of music, etc.

And this is not only exclusive to non-fiction books. There are tons of fiction books out there that feature musicians as characters, so you can include those in this challenge too.
