I had tried to insert !FindInMap with Fn::Join in conjunction with !Sub as shown below.

That’s when I got the dreaded mapping values are not allowed here. The first thing I noticed was that I forgot to close my strings on the line with the two Subs.

Still doesn’t work.

All I did was move Join to the next line and change to the short term and it seemed to work:
