Many Of Us Don’t Want To Go Back To Normal

Atrocities inflicted against other human beings isn’t very normal

Dear Lord, how many times have I read it in an article or heard someone mention they can’t wait for things to settle down and get back to normal.

Really?

Not me. In fact, I’m terrified of things returning to a state they once were. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I would dearly love the day when there isn’t some card-carrying asymptomatic loon out there refusing to wear a mask strolling about doling out possible death to everyone they sneeze or cough or spit on.

This is Texas, where I take up residence, remember? Yeah, we have a shit ton of stupid folks walking around here people.

I would love to hold my newest grandbaby until she fills her diaper and then promptly give her back to her mom and dad. Nowadays, I only get to watch on Zoom as the parents twist their faces in disgust when Piper drops her toxic, and I do mean toxic, payload.

I would love to take walks in the park without being forced to dodge the runners and cyclists who get too close to my baby and me.

But that’s not the “normal” I don’t want to ever, ever see again. The normal I’m talking about, and the normal I don’t ever want to see again is these privileged white sons of bitches, and the bitches and bastards who spawned them who honestly believe they matter more than all the other human beings on this planet.
