Show Disruption
Man at next Table Sings Louder than the Band — What Do You Do
Could’ve complained to the manager, but getting the man on stage on Wednesday was even better

Setting
City Fire is a restaurant & bar with entertainment and dancing. The big thing is to avoid an argument in that type of setting. Complaining to the manager would also have caused animosity. I presented an opportunity instead of a complaint.
The Story
Yesterday, a loud man at the adjacent table was singing along with the Vegas Road Show band — at the same volume; and pretending to play the piano on his table. He wasn’t that good and sang mainly the chorus lines.
I suspect that half the people a City Fire sing along with most songs but not loud enough for others to hear. I can see their lips moving.
After the second song, I walked over and suggested that he come back and sing on Wednesday. He replied that he could do that every day. I said, “But on Wednesday, you can sing on stage.”
Somebody else at the table said it was karaoke night. I think that they thought that I was just harassing him.
Later, I requested that the band perform “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” by The Shirelles. As it started, I walked over to the man’s table and told them that it was my first karaoke song.
They all laughed when they realized that I was quite serious about the man coming back on Wednesday and singing on stage.
Note (Wednesday 7/6/22): He didn’t show up.
