Making Peace in Our Unique Worlds: Empathy, Kindness and the Power of Perspective
Discovering the Connection between Our Unique Worlds and the People in Our Sphere of Influence

Each one of us lives in a unique world that we create using the characters around us. We juggle all aspects of life — family, work, health, money, and societal relations — and spend our entire lifetime doing so.
Treat Your Circle of Influence Well
In a lifetime, we encounter a limited number of people. If we live for 90 years, say we might have met 900 people at most, who have influenced us at some point in our lives. Your world will revolve around these 900 people and your memories are based on your experiences with them. There will be a joint set (intersection area) between you and these 900 people.
Viewing life at a more micro-level, every individual cares for themselves and their close-knit family members mainly. Their time is spent in this small world earning a name, creating wealth, and nurturing their family. If you try to be pleasant, helpful, and empathetic with these 900 people, at least, your life would be peaceful. It is important to remember that small acts of kindness and empathy can have a big impact on the people around us and ultimately, on our own well-being.
Important to Stop Comparing With Others
It’s human nature to compare ourselves with others. But it’s important to compare on a level playing field.
I had a competitor, whom I used to envy for his position, rewards and recognition. However, when his father passed away — an inner voice hits me, “you wanted similar privileges to him, are you ready to take up all his losses as well?”. I realised how wrong comparing our lives with other would be. I do not want his not great skin tone, his personality, not his loss of a family member situation, but I want all the same privileges he enjoys. How does it work like that? Any time I try to compare myself with others, I try to do it as a package, which reminds me about this competitor of mine.
Compare your competitor’s life with yourself as a whole, instead of focusing on just one isolated incident and this will remind you never to compare yourself with others
We often fall into the trap of comparing our worst moments to other people’s best moments, which can lead to feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction. It’s important to remember that everyone has their own struggles and we should focus on our own progress and growth.
Death unites everyone in the end
Everyone reaches the graveyard at the end of their life. In ancient times, there was only one graveyard for a village.
Whether a king or a servant, they both reach the same place when the story ends.
Everyone reaches there at the end of their life. This serves as a reminder that we are all equal in death and should strive to treat others with kindness and empathy during our time on earth.
In conclusion, it is important to remember that each person lives in their own unique world, and the way we interact with the people in our sphere of influence can have a big impact on our overall well-being. Be kind and empathetic towards the people in your life and try to avoid comparing yourself with others in an unfair way. Instead, focus on your own progress and growth, and remember that small acts of kindness can have a big impact on those around you.
