Making Over $100 In One Day On One Medium Article

I am amazed!

Note: I originally wrote this article on December 23rd but waited to publish it for fear of jinxing myself. Haha! Since this day, I have had 4 days with over a $100 payout.

In a climate of much negativity surrounding Medium these days, I’m going to be a bright light in the darkness.

Yesterday I made over $100 on one of my Medium articles!

I’ve been watching my stats climb, steadily for the past month since I wrote it. Many days I’ve clocked in at around $70. Of course, I was over the moon and ecstatic about that amount of money and thought that I had likely peaked when I hit $80 in one day.

But this! This day, December 22nd, I hit over $100!

Now, I don’t post this to brag. I simply want to show people what is possible on this platform.

While so many people are crying the blues and screaming from the rooftops about their declining views and abysmal earnings, there are people that are still making money on Medium.

I’ve been in the Medium Partner Program for 9 months now and have made just over $100 for 4 of those months.

November was my best month before this, partly thanks to this article as well that contributed at the end of the month. Screenshot by author.

So to make this jump in earnings is certainly astounding.

I never dreamed in a million years that it would be possible to make what I am making this month.

But here it is! I am living proof that anything is possible.

Reasons I think this article is doing well:

It’s controversial – Now I don’t advocate for people to go out and find controversial topics to write about. But in today's climate, it seems to be what sells. As a side note, I didn’t think it was as controversial as it has turned out to be. I was simply just sharing my experience.
Because of its controversial nature, it has sparked many comments. It’s interesting to see how involved in commenting people get and all of that counts as reading time.
It’s an honest account of my personal experience.
I am also engaged in the comment section. On almost 200 comments now, I have responded to probably 96% of them. Both good and bad.
The title has strong trigger words. I didn’t realize it when I wrote it, but I do know now as people have commented directly about the title.

How much will this money change my life?

As full-time travelers we have spent the past five years scraping by on very meager amounts of money. A few dollars flow in from various platforms, but it’s never been enough for us to really enjoy ourselves to the fullest.

Don’t get me wrong, we have found the ultimate happiness in this traveling life, but we have also missed out on seeing many expensive sights simply because of their cost.

This money is going to help us ring in the New Year like nothing else could!

2023 is our year to shine, and we couldn’t be more excited!

We have both worked incredibly hard these past five years to find ways to make this traveling lifestyle work, and it seems that our efforts are finally all coming together and paying off.

So please don’t stop. Don’t give up on Medium.

Keep on writing from your heart and sharing your life with the world. You truly never know when that big one will come along that will turn your life around!
