The Tutorial

Cotton fabric, ribbons, buttons, and felt are all required materials. Make a six-by-twelve-inch rectangle out of the fabric. Then cut the felt into four by seven-inch squares.

Sew all the way around, leaving a half-inch seam allowance. Remember to leave an inch hole so you can turn it the right way up. You’re free to sandwich the straps. Trim the sides before removing the corners with a tool.

Then iron and topstitch the project. Attach the felt by stitching the middle of the needle book or by using craft glue. Finally, sew a button and use craft glue to attach the ribbon for the closure.

Here are the other sizes of the needlebook I created: 4 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches, 3 x 7 inches, 5 x 10 inches, 7 x 10 inches, and 6 x 7 inches. I enjoy making these to keep my needles organized. For hand embroidery, use a backstitch. Cut 2 inches of felt for each length of it.

The inspiration

Pinterest gave me the idea to make one. There are numerous ways to customize it. Pockets for snips, scissors, and thread are optional.
