Making It Enough

Thrifty Word Challenge #22: Guilty

I guilt-trip whether I do enough for my children and grandchildren — what didn’t I do; what can I do. And if I recall not kissing my cat one day, she gets more than one before shutting the lights off, so guilt can make a better person, don’t you think?

Making it enough is always a dilemma. Did I give them enough or feed them enough is like trying to fill a basket without a bottom. Did I love them in the way they needed or guide them enough in the right direction? Did I say enough or too much? Today, I try to bring something special to my grandchildren when I see them, even if it’s just a lollipop. And of course, now I have to remember not to forget to bring the lollipops whether I brought something else or not. I think not forgetting to kiss your kids or pets and telling them that you love them as much as possible makes it enough and helps to keep guilt manageable. So, like when I say keep reading, keep writing as guidance, it would be to keep saying I love you and spoiling them with kisses to make it enough. The rest will work itself out. Make it fun, make it love.
