The web content provides an overview of three magazines that pay freelance writers substantial amounts for nonfiction articles, with potential earnings ranging from 75.00 to 3,000.00 per piece.

Abstract

The article outlines lucrative opportunities for freelance writers in three distinct publications: Good Housekeeping, Moviemaker, and Wine Press North West. Good Housekeeping offers up to 3,000.00 for narrative personal essays and reported stories, targeting a broad audience with a significant online and print presence. Are you looking for new markets to get paid from? Finding well-paying markets can be challenging. Freelance writing for publications can pay as little as a byline and a contributor copy and as much as thousands of dollars for one good story. The three markets I am highlighting today offer between $75.00 to $3,000.00 per article.

More Info:

Good Housekeeping is a magazine that appeals to a larger demographic than most print or online magazines. They have 32.4 million readers (online, print, and subscription), with 75% female and 25% male readers. Their social audience is 6.9 million. Although the median age of a reader is about 50, there are younger people in their 20’s and 30’s reading this magazine. This would be a great magazine to get your article read by the most people.

Nonfiction: Good Housekeeping is looking for long-form narrative personal essays and reported stories. They are always looking for different voices, perspectives and hearing stories that have not been told. They want unique stories related to the house or home or guides that will help their reader’s everyday life.

The guidelines are very specific, including links to their media pack (so you can get a better idea of who the readers are) and multiple links to different types of stories they have previously published.

Although I could not find word length and pricing in their guidelines, it has been reported as approximately $1.50 per word. Feature articles are typically between 1,500–2,000 words each.
