A Layer 2 solution for Ethereum, zkSync uses Zero-Knowledge (ZK) rollups to speed up transitions and lower gas fees on the Ethereum blockchain.

Ethereum is being used for a growing number of dApps, but its inherent scaling issues make the blockchain congested and expensive. ZK rollups are currently considered one of the most promising technologies addressing this problem.

zkSync consists of two networks: The original zkSync Lite network and the newer zkSync Era mainnet.

Interacting with zkSync Era is likely going to earn you a lot more tokens, so don’t spend more than 10% of time and volume on zkSync Lite.

On zkSync Era

1. Bridge ETH to zkSync Era

First, use ChainList to add zkZync Era Mainnet to your Metamask.

To do any of the following tasks, you will need to have the amount of ETH you wish to allocate to the farming of this airdrop available on the zkSync Era Mainnet.

First, buy ETH on a centralized exchange. Then send it to your Metamask on Ethereum Mainnet.

Now you can send ETH to zkSync Era by using the official bridge on bridge.zksync.io or Orbiter Finance.

Once your ETH is on zkSync Era, you can use it to swap assets, provide liquidity, or mint NFTs.

In your Metamask, switch the network to zkSync Era.

2. Swap assets on zkSync dApps

You can swap assets like this (this is just an example):

• On syncswap.xyz swap ETH for WETH
• On app.mute.io/swap swap WETH for USDC
• On izumi.finance/trade/swap swap USDC for BUSD
• On app.velocore.xyz/swap swap BUSD for ETH

3. Provide liquidity

• On syncswap.xyz/pools add some ETH to the USDC/ETH or zkUSD/ETH pool.
• On app.velocore.xyz/liquidity add some ETH to the USDC/ETH or WETH/VC pool.

BONUS TIP: Syncswap has a valuation of over $60 million but doesn’t have a token yet. By using it, you can potentially qualify for the zkSync and the Syncswap airdrop at the same time.

4. Mint NFTs

Mint an image as an NFT on Mint Square (make sure you’re on zkSync Era Mainnet).

On zkSync Lite

1. Bridge ETH to zkSync Lite

Bridge ETH to zkSync Lite on Orbiter Finance or ZigZag.

2. Trade assets

Do some trading on ZigZag exchange.

3. Mint NFTs

• Use an app like Pinata or NFT storage to create your NFTs
• Copy the CID number of the created NFT
• Go to zkSync Lite and connect your wallet (on Ethereum Mainnet)
• Mint an NFT by inserting the CID in the Content Address field

Maximize your chances

1. Interact with zkSync regularly

Most people do a few transactions and then forget the whole thing. To qualify for an airdrop, you should show genuine interest in the protocol by using it consistently over an extensive period.

2. Get organized

Write down tasks you need to perform in apps like Trello, set time aside to carry them out, and use reminders on your phone.

Create an Excel sheet to keep track of your transactions and fees.

4. Make larger transactions

Besides regular interaction, the volume of transactions you perform is an essential token allocation criterion. Gas fees don’t depend on the size of the transaction, so if possible make fewer and bigger transactions.
